2022 DDRCC Midwest Alliance Workshop, April 8-9, 2022
The Washington University will host the upcoming 2022 DDRCC Midwest Alliance Workshop on April 8-9, 2022 at the Knight’s Center on the Washington University Danforth Campus.
The Washington University DDRCC (WU-DDRCC) seeks to expand opportunities for junior faculty career development through mentoring, networking, and optimized access to core services and technology expertise available at the partner sites. The MidWest Alliance (MWA) Workshop was initiated in 2013 to promote the career development of postdoctoral fellows and junior faculty members and to provide a forum for sharing knowledge and research progress among the participating institutions. The MWA is comprised of six NIDDK-funded DDRCCs located in the Midwest: Case Western Reserve University, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Mayo Clinic, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, and Washington University in St. Louis. The WU DDRCC will be the 2022 host for the MWA Conference (April 8-9, 2022).
The MWA Workshop promotes career development of postdoctoral and junior faculty members and provides a forum for cross-fertilization of knowledge, research progress, and collaborations among the participating institutions. The Workshop will feature successful women and URM investigators as keynote speakers, session leaders, role models and mentors in order to expand our community of researchers interested in digestive and liver disease.
The program is an intensive 2-day event featuring junior investigator research presentations, keynote speaker presentations, and career development activities (Round table Q&A discussion on featured topics and mentoring session). The group is small enough to enable all scientific sessions to be held in plenary. The primary scientific focus of the conference is to promote junior investigators, by providing the opportunity to receive critical feedback from faculty, with expanded mentorship opportunities for both research program and career development.
