Membership requirements
Full membership in the Washington University Digestive Diseases Research Cores Center (DDRCC) is available to full‑time faculty members at Washington University who have an established and extramurally supported professional interest in digestive disease‑related research. This includes:
- U, K and R series funded investigators
- Those with foundation support (for example CCFA, AASLD, ASGE, AGA, etc.)
- Current pilot and feasibility awardees
Associate membership in the DDRCC is available to faculty who have scientific investigative interests in digestive disease‑related research, but do not meet all the criteria for full membership.
Membership will be reviewed by the Internal Executive Committee of the Washington University Digestive Diseases Research Core with final approval by the Director and Associate Director. The membership roster will be reviewed annually by the Internal Executive Committee to insure that membership categories remain appropriate.
- Full members will have priority use of shared resources and services, including member discounts where appropriate.
- Associate members will have access to cores on a case-by-case basis with approval from core directors, with no discounted rate for services.
The specific criteria for each type of membership are:
- Full‑time academic appointment at Washington University or a regional institution, meeting all the other criteria below.
- Actively funded, extramural peer-reviewed digestive disease‑related research (other than NRSA), including U, K and R series funding and foundation awards (CCFA, AGA, ASGE, AASLD etc.), or current pilot and feasibility project recipient.
- Digestive disease-related publications in peer-reviewed professional journals or ongoing digestive disease-related research projects.
- Interest in using one or more of the DDRCC core facilities.
- Full‑time academic appointment at Washington University or a regional institution, but no active extramural peer reviewed funding in digestive disease‑related research.
- Past pilot and feasibility recipients, within 5 years of P&F award.
- Active involvement in patient care or education related to digestive disease.
- Professional involvement or interest in pursuing digestive disease‑related research.
- Digestive disease-related publications, presentations at professional meetings, or preliminary data supporting interest in digestive disease-related research.
- Interest in occasional or sporadic access to one or more of the DDRCC core facilities.

- Area of research interest, including a brief description and justification for the membership category chosen
- Description of your ongoing/pending projects/grants relating to digestive diseases in the NIH Other Support format
- Current CV or NIH Biographical Sketch
- List of faculty members with whom you are currently collaborating with on digestive disease-related research
