RNA Sample Preparation

RNA quality is one of the major factors which determine the success of microarray experiments. We recommend to use organic extraction method such as Trizol protocol to isolate total RNA. You may further purify the total RNA with Qiagen's RNAeasy kit. Total RNA concentration must be > 0.5 ug/ul. O.D260/280 should be ~1.8. We will check the quality of your RNA samples using the Agilent Bioanalyzer. The following figure shows the electropherogram of "good" and "bad" total RNA.
